Al fresco stitching

Been a busy week this one with the end of term but I have managed to complete the rotation on the Christmas tags. I had hoped to have already moved on to the next project but it just wasn't happening with how busy I was at work oh and Vinnie cut another tooth so has been a struggle to get him down at bedtime. But I'm done for 2 weeks Easter holidays (woop woop) so hoping to fit in some more stitching amongst all the other plans I'm hatching!!

Anyways how lovely is the weather at the moment I'm loving it. Wasn't at the beginning of the week when I was stuck in my office lol. So I have jumped at the chance as soon as I could to do a spot of al fresco stitching.
The little enjoyed playing in the garden too with his sand table. Although at the moment it's mostly trying to stop him eating everything!! We are planning a good garden sort out not that that'll stop him trying to eat sand lol.

I've got another 2 tags finished
The one with the holly I had to trim to less than a block of aida from the design to get it to fit on the tag. It must be wider than all the others as they trim easily to a couple of blocks either side of the design. I'm pretty sure I didn't go off anywhere.

Here are all the ones that I have completed together
I'm going to have some pretty looking Christmas presents this year!

I have made a start on the fifth one as well
So I'm nearly there with complete all 6 in the set. But I'm happy with that I'll get them done on the next go round the rotation.

We also had the Easter party at playgroup yesterday and there was a Easter bonnet competition. We didn't win anything but here's mine and Vinnie's effort
I did do most of it with Vinnie only being 1 he's not really up to much crafts yet. Its a paper plate and some foam cut outs from the pound shop. But I did stick to materials that he could use and help a little with. Some of the parents had clearly spent ages on some of the hats there as they were impressive but quite clearly not touched by a under 3!!

I'm looking at starting my next project in my rotation sometime today. So watch this space.

aw shucks! Liebster award

I have to say a huge thank you to Minnie All XX's for awarding me the Liebster award. What a lovely way to spread the love and enjoyment of the blogging community which was more than I could have hoped for when I started on this endeavour. I didn't even know if anyone would be reading lol. Little did I know it would open a whole world of people who I have become rather fond of. I wish I had done it sooner.
Liebster is a German word, meaning favourite, dearest or beloved. The Liebster is awarded by bloggers to other, newer bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers, to spread the word and help the new(er)bies gain wider recognition.

The award comes with four conditions that each recipient must satisfy when accepting

1. Choose five up-and-coming blogs (with fewer than 200 followers) to award the Liebster too.

2. Show thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.

3. Post the award on your blog. List the bloggers you are giving the award too with links to their sites. Leave comments on their blog so they know about the award.

4. Share five random facts about yourself that people don’t know
So the five blogs I would like to pass the award to are:
  1. Eyani Ryou  -stitchystitches
  2. Krystaline - Relentless stitching
  3. Xeihua (Sara) - my cross stitch corner
  4. ricketyjo -it's all about me
Now 5 random facts hmmmm....
  1. I'm a huge Ewan Mcgregor fan...drool lol
  2. I met my hubby on the number 186 bus.
  3. I've only been abroad/ on an aeroplane once. I went to Israel when I was about 13.
  4. I've seen Alice Cooper live 3 times.
  5. I love dumbass movies like Wayne's World, Dude where's my car, Role Models etc
Phew that was hard I'm never good at doing things like that my mind always goes blank lol. Hubby helped a little.
Until next time

Spring Xmas stitching and TUSAL

Loving the fact that spring has sprung! The sun is shining - great light for stitching :)

Well I've been sticking to my rotation although I nearly caved last night at picking up Motherly Devotion but after last night things are going well and I'm going to keep going a little longer. I have still a few hours to do on this one but I'm used to fitting in a weekly post so I'm just going to stick with that rather than wait till I'm done.

I've set myself this one then something else and then I can go back to Motherly Devotion. This means its not so long and I get back to the beginning of the cycle. I can build on that then if it starts to work for me.

So I've been working on Christmas tags from Cross stitcher magazine. I know funny right stitching Christmas when its nearly Easter but that's just the way it goes lol.I spent most of the summer last year stitching Father Christmas so why not!!!

Any way I have finished 2 completely

and I have one in progress
There are 6 in the set so going well. Think that they are coming together lovely. I see to have lost the red thread that was in the kit. I know there was some more it probably stuck to my butt and dropped off somewhere lol oh the times that has happened! Hopefully its a colour I have in the stash if it doesn't turn up!

Here's my TUSAL post think I have forgot the last few times. Doesn't look much for the amount of stitching but maybe that's a good thing not too many frogs and less wastage lol. I have took the picture with my lovely books I started collecting some of my favourites in nice hardback editions and they look rather smart on my book shelf.

Rotation jitters

Stitching has been coming along nicely and I have completed my 10 hours (give or take the extra sneaky half hour I didn't count) I was really struggling to decide to move on but seen as I took the fabric out of the hoop to picture I decided to take a deep breath and roll it away for something else.

Here's my progress on Motherly Devotion and I'm sure you will all see why I'm loathed to put it down.
It's stitching like a dream too.

We'll just have to see how it all goes with rotating onto something new. I'm hoping it will increase my productivity with all these January crazies lying around. Normally being a one at a timer I'm having nightmares about the orange box

that looms in the corner with all my crazies zip locked in and also Starry Night (which I can't believe is sat there) and Tapestry cat (which is a must to finish this year). It feels like a shameful box of abandoned starts I know I'll get there but I think I rest easier about my stash than all these starts!!

We had a wicked time with Vincent's first birthday he had a great time. Can't believe he's one already and not a baby anymore :( I don't think I was prepared for how emotional I'd find his birthday.

I'm off to hang the washing up outside seen as its a nice day and dries better than when Vince spends all day pulling it off the radiators anyway lol.

Then fingers crossed for some stitching time this afternoon

Progress, WIPocalypse and plans oh my!

I've been plugging away at things nicely. I've maybe not had as much time this week as last but I've been on sorting my son's stuff for his party tomorrow and his birthday on Tuesday. I can't believe my little boy is going to be 1 year old - I even got proper choked up buying him his first birthday card!

I've also been thinking - influenced by other blogs about trying to start a rotation otherwise I think that I'm going to drowned in this pile of Crazy January starts and not even get to anything I set out for WIPocalypse both of which I started to help increase productivity not hinder lol.

So I started Thursday - I'll still work with Motherly Devotion then I'm going to see if I can tear myself away and I think next I will pick up one off my WIPocalypse list either Starry Night or Tapestry Cat which has been a UFO that was never meant to be and has been lurking for too many years now.

Anyway here's this weeks progress on Motherly Devotion
Yipee some colours!!! Baby Jesus is complete bar his halo but I prefer to do the Kreinik at the end of the X stitch. I think once the collar and cuffs are done I'm going to do Mary's head. Then I'll have probably switched project provided I don't get cold feet lol.

I've also managed to sort getting into blogger on my mobile which means I can keep up to date with everyone's blogs better as most of the time I don't get much chance to get near the laptop - hubby hogs it all evening lol! Only thing is it doesn't seem to let me comment so I'll have to just do those as I manage to snag some computer time.

Well I've got a busy few days coming up starting with getting off here and tidying up Vincent has got Nanna, Grandpa and Auntie Lottie (my folks) coming to visit today!! Which kicks off his birthday celebrations, party tomorrow, then we're thinking of taking him to the local sealife centre on Sunday cos I'm at work on his birthday day boo. But hubby took the day off so I'm sure they'll find something to get up to. So I'll be on a squeeze to fit in some lovely XX's but I'm sure in my current stitchy zone I'll make some time!

Have a lovely week.

Can't get enough of this one!

It's been a bit of a rollercoaster week this one but has been great on the stitching front.

I had my 14 week scan on Monday which went well all is ok. Just loved seeing the little one wiggling on the screen! Only thing was I was sick as a dog - everyone wrote it off as morning sickness but I knew really it was a stomach bug - which hubby confirmed by coming down with it at the end of the week. But every cloud and all that, it has meant I have rested up with my needle!!!

So here's my progress with Motherly Devotion.

I'm so pleased it seems to be flying off the needle and I'm so addicted to this one I can't get enough of it. It's one I finding myself daydreaming about getting to times I can stitch. Also when my son is taking his nap I'm finding myself thinking I'm tired too but I want to stitch more than sleep!!! I have bearly been able to tear myself away to catch up on everyones blogs and update this one lol.

I think what makes Joan Elliot designs so stitchable is the way you can work on a section like its its own mini project. I'm so excited to be nearly finished all of Baby Jesus!! I just love when you start to really be able to see the design coming out as well.

And haven't I been so good I've stuck to doing the blanket even with all its greys. I can't wait till it's done and I can start on with all those lovely colours.
